A Mad Tea Party: Fifth Edition

A Summer Tea Party

Everyone is invited!

The rules for having yourself a Mad Tea Party are simple:

  • Cook one or more recipes inspired by Lewis Carroll’s famous Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, between  Aug 21-Sept 8 Sept 22), write a post about it (with or without a recipe :D ).
  • Call a friend (or friends – the more the merrier) over for tea and have yourselves a party!  If possible, include a picture of the Madness you enjoyed.
  • Too hot to cook? Go out and order a cup of tea and tarts (or whatever you fancy)! The portion will be right, and you won’t have to cook in this hot weather! Write a post about it, and how you really enjoyed that!
  • Link to this page, which will be updated to include all the entries. You may, if you like, use a Pingback and it will automatically show up in the comments here. Or leave a comment here which will lead us to your post!
  • Don’t have a blog? You can still join the party; just leave a comment here about how you had yourself an Alice inspired Mad Party!

  2. Hey!Anita,
The boys and I had a “super awesome”(according to my 6 yr old) Mad tea party this weekend. First we read the book Alice in Wonderland again.

Then we made some lemon-mint ice tea, made butterflies out of bread, some we slathered with nutela and jam others we stuffed with spiced hung curd, grated carrot spread and cut out diamonds and hearts with a cookie cutter out of thin beetroot and cucumber slices, baked a chocolate cake in the pressure cooker (as we have not yet got to repairing our oven) and popped popcorn and we were set.My son made a catterpillar surrounded by smoke or so he claimed otherwise it just looked like circles and lots of doodles!!!

A stuffed bunny joined us at the tea table as did one robot, 19 hot wheels cars and 2 power rangers figures. A strange assortment but then the original participants of a mad tea party were pretty strange too!!

Thank you Anita for the idea, the boys had fun helping and making the food and it was a nice family time for the four of us.I am sure now that the boys will insist on having more such tea parties soon. Hope you enjoyed your party too!!!As always, keep up the good work:-)

Looks like you people had a mad little party alright! Even a caterpillar!! :-) The idea was to have fun and you did exactly that!
Thanks for indulging me and coming to the party, Rameshwari! You are the head of the caterpillar!
